Giovanni Neri, originally a grain and seed merchant, left the bustling city of Montevarchi in the Arno valley south of Florence to pursue his passion for wine. Il Rosso is born from the harmonious marriage of Sangiovese with a modest addition of other grape varieties, delivering a young, profound red. It carries the essence of its native territory with an unmistakable Casanova di Neri signature.

The 2021 winter exhibited gentle temperatures and regular rainfall. Germination commenced between the last week of March and the first week of April. An unexpected return of cold during spring slowed the growth of vegetation. However, the hot and dry conditions in May and June allowed the plants to recover. Ripening proceeded steadily and the harvest began in the second week of September.
