Casanova di Neri

Casanova di Neri, a renowned Italian winery, was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri. Giovanni Neri, originally a grain and seed merchant, left the bustling city of Montevarchi in the Arno valley south of Florence to pursue his passion for wine. Despite being in close proximity to the famous Chianti Classico region, it was the austere and unpredictable nature of the Sangiovese grape growing in the Montalcino region that captivated him. His ambition was to create an exceptional Italian red wine that would be recognised worldwide.

Having a lifelong passion for wine, Giovanni Neri embarked on this great adventure with a single-minded vision, a vision that has now placed Casanova di Neri on the global wine map. The wines produced here embody the spirit of the Italian tradition, the rugged charm of the Montalcino region, and the relentless passion of its founder. The unpredictability of the Sangiovese grapes adds an element of surprise and intrigue to each bottle of wine, making it a truly unique experience for the wine connoisseur.

Casanova di Neri, Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova, 2018

Introducing the Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2018, a wine that originates from the esteemed Casanova di Neri estate in the distinguished region of Tuscany. This Brunello di Montalcino is a showcase of equilibrium, sophistication, and intensity.

Produced from 100% Sangiovese, this Brunello is a product of the Tenuta Nuova vineyard. The 2018 vintage, known for its favorable weather conditions, has allowed the winemakers to bring forth the vineyard's distinct character and the inherent elegance of the Sangiovese grape.

Like most of Casanova di Neri's wines, the Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2018 offers excellent aging potential. Those who allow this wine to mature will discover a wine that evolves, unveiling deeper layers of complexity and subtlety with time.

Upon uncorking, one is met with enticing aromas of ripe red and black cherries, plums, and gentle floral notes. Hints of spice and leather, coupled with a subtle earthy minerality, add to the complexity of the aroma.

Upon tasting, the fruit flavors from the aroma are echoed and complemented by lively acidity and a firm tannin structure. Notes of dried herbs, a touch of mocha, and a hint of toastiness counterbalance the robust fruit.

Despite being full-bodied and rich, the Tenuta Nuova 2018 maintains an element of elegance, creating a pleasing equilibrium in the mouth. It leaves a lasting impression, with a finish that lingers, showcasing the sublime structure of this wine.

The Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2018 is akin to a journey through the Tuscan hills - a true testament to the art of winemaking. It is a wine that is bound to be enjoyed by those who appreciate a well-crafted Brunello.
