Poliziano Winery is one of Italy's renowned wine producers, located in the region of Tuscany. Established in 1961 by Dino Carletti, named after Angelo Ambrogini (1454–1494), a native of Montepulciano, who was known by his nickname, "Poliziano".
Poliziano is particularly famous for their Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a red wine that's one of Italy's classic, high-quality wines along with Barolo, Brunello di Montalcino, and Chianti Classico. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is made primarily from the Sangiovese grape (known locally as Prugnolo Gentile) with small additions of other varieties. The wine is recognized for its elegant and robust characteristics, with rich flavors of red and black fruits, spices, and hints of earthy tones.
Poliziano's vineyards cover around 120 hectares, mostly in the Montepulciano region. The soil composition in these vineyards varies significantly, leading to different grape characteristics and diversity in the produced wines. The winery focuses on respecting the individuality of each vineyard during the winemaking process.
Over the decades, Poliziano has been committed to a balance between tradition and innovation.
