This red wine hails from Ricasoli, one of the oldest and most respected wine estates globally, situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. With the Ricasoli family's history linked to winemaking since the 12th century, this winery stands as one of the oldest in the world and the oldest in Italy.

The wine has its roots at Castello di Brolio, a historic castle that has been a part of the Ricasoli family since 1141. The Iron Baron, Barone Bettino Ricasoli, played an essential role in establishing the estate's reputation. After years of experimentation in the 19th century, he developed the original formula for Chianti wine, which forms the basis for the modern Chianti Classico we relish today.

The wine is the result of a harmonious blend of Sangiovese grapes grown in the five most representative soils in Brolio. These include Macigno del Chianti (sandstone), Scaglia Toscana (Galestro), Monte Morello (Alberese), Marine Deposit (sandy deposits and clay at deeper levels), and Ancient Fluvial Terrace (silty deposits with clay). This blend gives the wine its unique characteristics.

This wine reveals an alcohol level of 14.5%, making it a robust choice for those who appreciate strong, full-bodied wines. Recognized and highly rated by renowned wine critics, this red wine has earned 93 points from Robert Parker, and 91 points from both James Suckling and Wine Spectator.
