Only 5 producers bottle the cru Cerequio - one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Barolo DOCG area. The vineyard extends over two virtually opposing slopes which, together, create an easy recognizable ridge. The area is characterized by an extraordinary microclimate: in winter, snow melts immediately and the elders call this place “Riviera of the Langhe”. Sandy soil with high humidity and clay.
This south, southeast-facing site is located in the commune of La Morra and is known for its excellent exposure and the distinctive composition of its soil. This, combined with the meticulous care Boroli takes in tending its vineyards and crafting its wines, lends the Barolo Cerequio its unique character.
Made entirely from Nebbiolo grapes, the Boroli Barolo Cerequio 2016 is a representation of a classic Barolo. After hand-harvesting, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation in large oak barrels (1.000-2.500 L), where it's aged for 18 months. After this period, the wine is bottle-aged for a minimum of 12 additional months before release.
Clear ruby red colour, intense and fruity aromas with scents of flowers such as camomile. Structured and full-bodied, Boroli Barolo Cerequio is the epitome of generosity. Lively black fruits aromas are sustained by perfectly integrated tannins and a long lasting finale.
