Boroli Family Vineyards

With a rich history dating back to 1831, the Boroli family have been enterpreneurs across multiple industries. Initially in the textile field, then publishing, today, they have found their passion in the wine industry. In the 90s, Silvano and Elena Boroli felt a strong desire to reconnect with nature, to escape the fast-paced, demanding rhythm of modern life. This led them to the beautiful Langhe region, where they transformed their passion for wine into a dedicated commitment. In the year 2000, Achille, the third of their four children, joined the family business. Achille's contributions have turned the rigorous work in the vineyards into something of great significance and satisfaction. Today, the Boroli family vineyards represent not just a business, but a legacy of love for wine and the land. Their wines are a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality, and a symbol of the satisfaction they derive from their work. Each bottle is a celebration of the Boroli family's history, their connection to the land, and their passion for winemaking.

Boroli, Barolo Cerequio, 2016

Originating from the heart of Italy, in the Piedmont region, the Boroli Barolo Cerequio 2016 is an exquisite red wine that has been highly praised by renowned wine critics. Robert Parker has awarded it a commendable 93 points, while James Suckling has given it an impressive 95 points. This recognition is a testament to the quality and craftsmanship that has gone into producing this wine.

A product of the prestigious Cerequio vineyard, one of only five producers in the Barolo DOCG area, this wine has been crafted from Nebbiolo grapes. The vineyard is known for its extraordinary microclimate, which is characterized by immediate snow melt in winter, earning it the nickname ‘Riviera of the Langhe’. Its sandy soil, high humidity, and clay composition lend the wine its unique character.

The Boroli Barolo Cerequio 2016 is made entirely from Nebbiolo grapes harvested by hand. The grapes are then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Following this, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in large oak barrels, where it is aged for 18 months. The wine is then bottle-aged for a minimum of 12 additional months before release, ensuring a refined taste profile.

With an alcohol level of 14%, this red wine boasts a clear ruby red color. It offers intense and fruity aromas, accented by scents of flowers such as chamomile. On the palate, it is structured and full-bodied, a true representation of a classic Barolo. The lively black fruit aromas are perfectly balanced by well-integrated tannins, culminating in a long-lasting finale that leaves a memorable impression.
