The year 2016 is widely considered an excellent vintage for Barolo wines, which is reflected in the quality of the Villero from Boroli

The Villero vineyard is located in the village of Castiglione Falletto, which is one of the most prized sites in the Barolo zone. The soil is rich in calcareous clay and marl, which is ideal for growing Nebbiolo, the grape variety used to make Barolo.

Boroli is a family-run winery committed to producing wines that express the unique terroir of their vineyards. They adhere to sustainable farming practices and take a minimal intervention approach to winemaking.

The Boroli Villero 2016 is made entirely from Nebbiolo grapes. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 18 months in large oak barrels, followed by a further period of minimum 12 months of aging in the bottle before release.

Bright garnet red color. Persistent aroma of ripe red fruits, plums and cherries that opens to spicy hints. It is a structured and powerful Barolo, with a deep aromatic profile.
Tannins are smooth and soft, thanks to the long maceration. Boroli Barolo Villero will last over time to give its maximum potential years after harvest.
