Casanova di Neri

Casanova di Neri, a renowned Italian winery, was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri. Giovanni Neri, originally a grain and seed merchant, left the bustling city of Montevarchi in the Arno valley south of Florence to pursue his passion for wine. Despite being in close proximity to the famous Chianti Classico region, it was the austere and unpredictable nature of the Sangiovese grape growing in the Montalcino region that captivated him. His ambition was to create an exceptional Italian red wine that would be recognised worldwide.

Having a lifelong passion for wine, Giovanni Neri embarked on this great adventure with a single-minded vision, a vision that has now placed Casanova di Neri on the global wine map. The wines produced here embody the spirit of the Italian tradition, the rugged charm of the Montalcino region, and the relentless passion of its founder. The unpredictability of the Sangiovese grapes adds an element of surprise and intrigue to each bottle of wine, making it a truly unique experience for the wine connoisseur.

Casanova di Neri, IrRosso, 2019

The 2019 IrRosso from Casanova di Neri is a testament to the winery's commitment to excellence and their deep respect for the Tuscan terroir. This red blend, composed of 85% Sangiovese and a 15% combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, captures the distinct character of Tuscany in every bottle.

Produced in the heart of Tuscany, the wine reflects the unique qualities of the region's climate and soil. The 2019 vintage was characterized by optimal balance, resulting in a wine that showcases the harmony between the individual grape varietals and their shared environment.

The sensory experience begins with the wine's vibrant, lively red hue. Aromas of small fruits, including red and black cherries, fill the nose, inviting the first sip. On the palate, the wine is rich and elegant, featuring a thick tannic texture and a long, persistent finish. While it is certainly enjoyable now, this wine will continue to evolve and improve with time.

Despite the complexity and depth of flavors, the IrRosso remains approachable and versatile. It can be enjoyed on its own, but also pairs well with a variety of dishes, making it a suitable choice for any occasion.

From the novice to the connoisseur, the Casanova di Neri IrRosso provides an opportunity to experience the rich diversity of Italian wines and the skillful craftsmanship that goes into every bottle.
