Pazo de Rubianes Winery

Steeped in history and tradition, the Pazo de Rubianes Winery is a testament to the timeless allure of artisanal winemaking. Nestled in the heart of the Pazo de Rubianes, the winery's roots can be traced back to the 15th century, where grapes were hand-crushed and pressed, heralding the start of a completely artisanal winemaking process. In the wake of the phylloxera plague, the vineyard gradually faded from the estate. However, under the stewardship of the eighteenth Lord of the House of Rubianes, Don Gonzalo Ozores de Urcola, the vineyard was reborn in the nineties of the last century. Starting with a modest 6 hectares, the vineyard has blossomed to cover a sprawling 25 hectares today. The Pazo de Rubianes Winery is a testament to the resilience and innovation of its founders. Its wines are the result of a harmonious blend of traditional and modern winemaking techniques, reflecting the rich history and unique terroir of the estate. Each bottle encapsulates the spirit and dedication of the people who have nurtured the vineyard back to life, promising a wine experience that is as rich and captivating as its history.

Pazo de Rubianes, Albariño, 2021

Delight in a bottle of Albariño from Pazo de Rubianes, a winery with a rich history that stretches back to the 15th century. Nestled in the heart of Rías Baixas in Spain, this winery is steeped in tradition and cultural significance.

Pazo de Rubianes sits in the Galicia region of northwest Spain, specifically in the Rías Baixas DO. This region is renowned for producing exceptional white wines, particularly those crafted from the Albariño grape.

Surrounding the grand manor house, or pazo, are lush vineyards and a stunning botanical garden filled with hundreds of camellia species. This estate is more than just a winery—it is a place of natural beauty and cultural richness.

Albariño is the star at Pazo de Rubianes. This white grape variety flourishes in the cool, coastal climate of Rías Baixas. The resulting wines are fresh, crisp, and aromatic, boasting high acidity and a delightful array of flavors. Expect notes of peach, apricot, melon, pineapple, and green apple, all underpinned by a distinct saline minerality that speaks to the region's coastal influence.

The winemaking process at Pazo de Rubianes is a harmonious blend of tradition and modern techniques. The winery prioritizes the health and biodiversity of the vineyards, ensuring that every bottle of wine is a true reflection of the land from which it came.

Visitors to Pazo de Rubianes will find an immersive wine tourism experience. The estate offers tours of the historic pazo, scenic walks through the gardens, and, of course, the opportunity to taste their exceptional wines.

This wine is packaged in a 1,5 L bottle. Generally, larger bottles allow wine to age better.
