Ricasoli Winery, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region, is the epitome of Tuscan wine culture. Since 1993, Baron Francesco Ricasoli has been at the helm of this central Tuscan company, guiding it through innovative challenges. His stewardship is characterized by a deep respect for his ancestors, notably Bettino Ricasoli, who have played significant roles in shaping this territory. Francesco Ricasoli’s leadership has seen the introduction of new ideas and concepts aimed at making the vineyards sustainable. He has embarked on an ongoing study of soil types and a clonal selection of the Brolio Sangiovese, demonstrating his passion and commitment to the vineyards. His efforts have led to the total renovation and comprehensive mapping of the vineyards. The new wines, therefore, are the embodiment of the research carried out with the same scientific rigor as his illustrious ancestor but with a contemporary spirit. Brolio Riserva is a Sangiovese red wine from Tuscany, Italy. It is a product of the Ricasoli winery, a venerated establishment with roots reaching back to the 12th century. The winery is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, at a historic castle that has been in the Ricasoli family since 1141.

The Iron Baron, Barone Bettino Ricasoli, played a pivotal role in enhancing the estate's reputation in the 19th century. His tireless experimentation led to the creation of the original formula for Chianti wine, which has served as the foundation for the modern Chianti Classico we enjoy today.

The Brolio Riserva 2019 is a testament to the winery's rich history and commitment to quality. It was grown on five different soil types representative of the Brolio region: Macigno del Chianti (sandstone), Scaglia Toscana (Galestro), Monte Morello (Alberese), Marine Deposit (sandy deposits and clay at deeper levels), and Ancient Fluvial Terrace (silty deposits with clay). The diversity of these soils contributes to the wine’s unique taste profile.

The grapes for the Brolio Riserva 2019 were harvested from September 23 to October 4, 2019. The fermentation process took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24°C-27°C, with 14-16 days of skin contact. The wine was then aged for 18 months in first and second passage tonneaux before being bottled on December 22, 2021.

At 14.5% alcohol, the Brolio Riserva 2019 offers a robust experience for the palate. Its high ratings from Robert Parker, James Suckling, Decanter, and Wine Spectator reflect its exceptional quality and the Ricasoli family's legacy of wine production excellence.
